EPISODE 1 featured my bro bud in Christ, Mr. Nick Feilner. Nick is the husband to Mrs. Elizabeth Feilner and Daddy to daughters Annabelle Ryan (5), Avery Kate (3) and Adeline Price (1) and master to Kelty, husky. Nick is an computer engineer (aka “secret agent,” see podcast) and enjoys worshipping the Lord, home construction, outdoors, and leading small group. EPISODE 2 featured my coolio cousin, Dr. Samuel Gentle. Dr. Gentle (what a great doctor name btw) is a neonatal doctor at the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL. Sam is a husband to sweet Mary, and new dad to sweet baby daughter Waverly, 1. Sam has a tender heart tempered with bold convictions, patient care, and is a multi-talented bro that I’m so glad to have grown up with among the larger than life Italian Alfano family. Jessica is awesome, and I don’t know why I get to spend my life with her, but I am forever grateful. Jessica is Mommy to our Milly age 6, and Sammy boy 3. Ben is the owner of Ben Collinger State Farm Insurance Agency and enjoys loving on his family, spending time with friends, sports, outdoors and Auburn football. EPISODE 8 of SSP featured my awesome and hero friend Brad Bowman. Brad is an amazing man of God who, along with his fearless wife Brittany, courageously and faithfully allows his heart and home to be truly surrendered for the Lord’s will. In doing so, Brad and Brittany have continually stepped out in faith in the pursuit towards adoption. 

Listen in as Brad opens his heart and details this unique and rewarding journey him, his wife, and really all their children have been on….and the night in Africa that Brad said turned prayer and patience into real action by adopting now 2 children and possibly even more while raising their own 4 biological children.

Also we discuss the process Brad and Brittany walked thru before making their first ever mission trip to India, and we discussed the bond that allowed us to become friends….PRISON MINISTRY! How real lives and souls are being redeemed inside the walls of our local prisons.

EPISODE 9 of SSP featured my dear friend Ashley Cochrane. Ashley is the founder of Crowned for Ashes, a newly formed nonprofit ministry giving respite and retreat to ill and injured veterans and spouses as well as widows. Ashley was the caregiver and wife to our hero Capt. Chris Cochrane before he sadly left this life and entered the presence of His king in 2017. While deployed in the Air Force Capt. Chris Cochrane suffered an infection of the heart valve in 2013 which led to several strokes. His recovery consisted of numerous surgeries and intense physical and speech therapy. Chris conquered the obstacle with unwavering determination while learning how to walk and talk and eventually landed a spot as an athlete of the US Wounded Warrior Games team. 
In 2017 Chris had another fall that fractured his skull, but once again he persevered and fought his way out of the hospital (3 altogether) including 4 months of intense recovery. In March 2018 Chris passed away and went to be with his Lord and Savior. Since then Ashley has honored Chris by living out his values of joy, peace, and life to the fullest that he so beautifully showed each day since his stroke. 

Ashley bravely shares her heart on this trial, the wisdom received, and the vision God gave her to turn this trial into one of goodness and glory.

This birthday boy is about to turn “70,” 🎉 and on this show he generously shares his life’s work on faith, marriage, parenting, his 40 yr. law career and much more. David Simpson is a Pensacola and Northwest Florida native.  As the managing partner of the Simpson Law Firm, he maintained a negligence injury practice since 1975.  He is admitted to the Florida Bar, the Federal District Court Northern & Middle District of Florida.  He is a Cumberland Law School graduate, Class of 1975 with Honors as a Proctor in Admiralty.  His undergraduate training consisted of a B.A. Degree from Auburn University in 1972, majoring in Political Science with a minor in English.

David limits his practice at this point in his life to mediation. work…”Peacemaking.” He serves as an elder in his church Immanuel Anglican in Destin, is an avid cyclist and serves as safety officer for the Emerald Coast Cyclist Club in Ft. Walton Beach.  David enjoys the company of his wife Sally, dog Gus, and the 8 (soon to be 9) grandchildren his family have been blessed with. SSP is truly honored to host this legendary man.
